Oops

For the past two weeks I actually forgot I have a blog! Oops.
Howdy doody.

Here's a quick updated:

June 3 - 10, ultimate relaxation vacation. With my girls (that would be Shanty and Anjum - Strawberry Cheesecake Ice cream, anyone?). To eat anything we want, sleep as late as we want, play as much golf as we want, and anything else the hell we want! In Palm Springs, CA.

HECK YEAH.

T.V. nation

Ever since college, I haven't had a healthy, regular dose of TV.

These days, I try to catch:
Grey's Anatomy
Big Love
Scrubs
The Steelers

And usually, when I come across it, I watch:
The Apprentice
South Park
House

One show that makes me cringe and instantaneously burst into flames of anger and annoyance:
Nancy Grace (JUST SHUT THE HELL UP, you freaking arse that is an embarrassment not only to my gender but to the entire species)

But in the past, there were certain hours of my life that I knew (and my family knew too) was reserved to ensure that I caught -

Every single episode of:
The X-Files, Friday nights at 9
TGIF shows on ABC, Friday nights at 8
Will & Grace
Saturday Night Live

Of course, there was the usual after-school programming, which included Saved by the Bell and Full House, but they weren’t held as in high priority as the above listed. And now, not a single show captures my cult-like devotion as those shows once did. Interesting.

So what shows do you regularly watch now?

The world's largest cruise ship will be inaugurated next week. Here is a sneak peek:

It boasts the world's first on-board surfing pool, called "Flow Rider", a skating rink and a rock-climbing wall. Its features also include a water park with colourful sculptures and numerous restaurants, bars and salons.

It will take up to 4,375 passengers at a time on Caribbean cruises.

The 160,000-ton ship is 339 metres (1,112 ft) long, 56m (184 ft) wide and has a cruising speed of 21.6 knots.

iCame, iSaw, iPod

It is tiny; unfathomably tiny. How did we go from boomboxes to this 1.5 oz, 3.5" x 1.6" almost paper thin contraption? I cannot wait for the day that the music players are the size of quarters - it makes me wonder why the watch mp3 haven't taken off. I suppose part of the appeal of owning an iPod; the symbolism of having one in the first place - to be a part of the in-group and to immediately feel a kinship to other owners. Apple users, Google users (before it became commoditized), Razor users, Air Jordan owners, Mini Cooper drivers, even Starbucks drinkers, all feel like they are a part of an elite, in-the-know group, which helps reinforce the image and the brand.

I did get it engraved (sorry to disappoint, but "AKA:") would required too much explanation had my brother asked me to explain. I got a iSkin to protect it, but it loses all of it's sleekness, and plus, you can't see the engraving. Which reads: "iAm Jeanne's" sitting right above the Apple logo and the word: "iPod".

Published in an Arab newspaper

Three years ago, today, President Bush made a speech on a U.S. aircraft carrier, declaring victory in Iraq.
